The story behind squared.engineering.
Hi, I'm Parsa Mivehchi — a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training at AECOM and a UBC Environmental Engineering graduate. I built squared.engineering because I lived the exact problem it solves.
While working toward my own professional engineering licence, I found myself tracking competencies across spreadsheets, PDFs, and scattered notes. The licensure process demands meticulous documentation of 34 engineering competencies across 7 categories — and there was no good tool for it. So I built one.
This isn't a VC-backed startup. It's a focused product built by a practising engineer who understands the journey from EIT to professional licence firsthand. Every feature exists because I needed it during my own application process — or because another engineer asked for it.
When I'm not engineering or coding, you'll find me kayaking BC's waterways or flying my drone over the mountains.
Help engineers organize, structure, and present their career documentation efficiently and honestly. The professional licence application process demands meticulous record-keeping — we make that manageable.
We believe the path to professional licensure should be about demonstrating genuine competence, not wrestling with formatting and organization. Your time is better spent on engineering.
