Terms of Service
Effective date: March 1, 2026
1. Service Description
squared.engineering ("the Service") is a web and mobile application that helps Canadian engineering graduates and engineers-in-training (EITs) track professional engineering competencies, prepare for the National Professional Practice Examination (NPPE), manage Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, and organize career documentation for professional licensure applications.
The Service includes Watson, an AI assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude API, which provides guidance on competency mapping, narrative drafting, and exam preparation.
2. Beta Disclaimer
squared.engineering is currently in beta. Features, functionality, pricing, and availability may change at any time without prior notice. While we strive to maintain a reliable service, you acknowledge that:
- The Service may experience downtime, bugs, or unexpected behaviour.
- Features may be added, modified, or removed during the beta period.
- Data loss, while unlikely, is possible. We recommend exporting your data regularly.
- We may reset or migrate data structures as the product evolves, with reasonable notice when possible.
3. Account Responsibilities
By creating an account, you agree to:

- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Not share your account with others or create multiple accounts for the same person.
- Not use the Service to fabricate, embellish, or misrepresent engineering experience or competencies.
4. AI Disclaimer
Watson, the AI assistant integrated into squared.engineering, is designed to help you organize and articulate your genuine engineering experience. By using Watson, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Watson provides organizational guidance, not professional engineering advice. Its output does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional counsel.
- AI-generated suggestions may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI output before using it.
- Watson is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a licensed engineer, mentor, or validator.
- You will not use Watson to generate fabricated experience, credentials, or competency claims.
- AI features are subject to availability and may be rate-limited, changed, or discontinued.
5. Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create within the Service, including project descriptions, competency narratives, work logs, and any other user-authored material. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
