Tool Purpose and Limitations

Squared Engineering is an organizational and productivity tool designed to help engineers structure, track, and format their professional experience for the purposes of applying for professional engineering licensure.

This tool does not generate, fabricate, embellish, or verify any content. All project descriptions, work log entries, experience narratives, competency claims, and other user-provided information are authored entirely by the user.

Squared Engineering does not guarantee that use of the tool will result in a successful licence application. The tool is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

No Regulatory Affiliation or Endorsement

This platform references the Engineers Canada competency framework as a study and tracking aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Engineers Canada or any provincial or territorial engineering regulator.

References to competency categories, codes, and assessment frameworks are used for organizational purposes only and are based on publicly available information. The competency framework implemented in this tool may not reflect the most current requirements of any specific regulator.

Users are solely responsible for verifying that their application materials meet all current requirements and guidelines of their applicable engineering regulator.

  • You are responsible for reviewing all AI-assisted output for accuracy before including it in any application.
  • Your attestation of truthfulness on any professional engineering application remains your personal responsibility.

AI Features — Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

AI-powered features in Squared Engineering use Anthropic's Claude API. To use these features, you must provide your own Anthropic API key.

  • Your API key is stored in your browser's secure storage and transmitted directly to Anthropic's API.
  • Squared Engineering does not store, log, or have access to your API key on our servers.
  • AI usage costs are billed directly by Anthropic to your account.
  • AI responses are generated by Anthropic's models and are subject to Anthropic's terms of service and usage policies.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database secured with Row Level Security (RLS). Each user can only access their own data.

You may export your data at any time using the built-in export feature. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
